The verification job can query PyPI before a newly uploaded version appears in the package index. Retry the clean install up to six times, with ten seconds between failures, then run the existing version and typing-marker checks. Exhausted retries and verification failures still fail the job.
Validation: actionlint and ShellCheck passed; exercised immediate success, delayed success, final-attempt success, exhausted retries, and verification failure. A clean Python 3.11 install of the published 2.0.0 package passed, and release workflow run 39383801777 passed after rerunning failed jobs.
