What this does

An audit of chapter 22 against the texts it cites found two false claims. Both are corrected here. Everything else in the chapter was checked and holds.

The misquoted Metta Sutta line

The anger case study introduced the ablative lue by showing what it called the Metta Sutta translation's line, and showed this:

su mawha miona lue korua thero wei shia peloma pula.
(May no one, from the fire of the heart, wish harm upon another.)

The line in texts/metta_sutta.md is longer, and its English is not that one:

su mawha miona lue korua thero sola lue laeno thimu korua thero wei shia peloma pula.
(May no person, from heart-fire or long-held heart-fire, wish harm to another.)

The chapter had dropped sola lue laeno thimu korua thero, which carries the resentment half of Fausbøll's "let him not out of anger or resentment wish harm to another". Because the chapter's gloss line matched its own shortened Phi, the validator passed it; only a comparison against the shelf catches it. The block is now the text's own, and the paragraph after it gains a clause for the second fire, so the prose and the example describe the same line.

The Velveteen Rabbit claim

The grammar-led choice listed "Real turned out to be the habitual ro". Real is shewo in that book from beginning to end, and the section teaching it is headed ## shewo — What is Real. All twelve occurrences of ro in the text mark ordinary repeated action: kept saying, used to sleep, used to dream, used to go.

The text does make a grammar-led choice at exactly the moment the claim was reaching for, and it is tense and aspect rather than a lexical particle. At the transformation the nursery magic is to ki kelu, already complete, and toyhood is to te nai, ceased. That pair replaces the false claim and keeps the example where it was.

What was checked and holds

Every Phi word cited in the chapter, with its gloss, against the lexicon. Both compound registry entries, korua thero and remo kire, plus phelu pula in the practice exercises. The claim that no Phi word is glossed angry. The numerals 47 and 214, which compose correctly and sit inside the exact range. The five Tao chapters, which are 8, 11, 17, 63, and 76. The refusal examples: contend became mawha pilu, leader became the one who guides in the transmutation, master became coercion and exploitation, and the Ring Verse refusal became its own text. The reframes: archer, bow, and arrows became wind, tree, and living seeds; the felled tree became the tree in the great wind; the scattering of Babel became a sowing. keiro against ruela, which matches both entries exactly. Belong through phelu, and useful through po, which the Tao's own gap log records. The six syllables of serao melothe. No retired form appears anywhere in the chapter.

Validator run standalone: 1,287 entries, 0 errors, 0 warnings. The site builds, which also confirms the case study's stored structure is unchanged. The neighbor baseline moved and is committed, as expected when a cited example gains words.

Observation, not addressed here

The chapter's introduction accounts for the shelf as close translations and transmutations. The shelf now also holds four original Phi works, and the manual teaches that third method in Part VII's sample texts rather than in this chapter. The sentence "The other adapted works are transmutations" stays true, since an original is not adapted, so nothing here is false. Whether chapter 22 should name the third method is a content decision rather than a repair.

The anger case study quoted the Metta Sutta's ablative line in a
shortened form, dropping the disjunct that names long-held heart-fire
and giving the English a rendering the translation does not use. The
block now matches the text it cites, and the paragraph beside it takes
in the second fire.

The five moves credited the Velveteen Rabbit with rendering Real as the
habitual ro. Real is shewo throughout that book, whose own section is
headed shewo, and every one of its twelve habitual particles marks an
ordinary repeated action. The grammar-led choice it does make is the
tense sequence at the transformation, where the nursery magic had
already happened and toyhood ceased.
