Summary

Complete the bilingual ADR base by translating ADR-0008 into French, and standardize the French maintainer docs on a single term for the library — « bibliothèque ». English stays canonical; the French text is a convenience for the project's maintainers.

Type of change

  • Documentation

Changes

  • Add the French translation (0008-…fr.md) of ADR-0008 and the language banner on both the English and French files, so the ADR base is fully bilingual (0001–0009). ADR-0008 keeps its Proposed status — only its translation is added.
  • Standardize the French maintainer docs on « bibliothèque »: replace the 33 remaining occurrences of « librairie » across 11 files (the eight ADR .fr files plus workflows/analyzers, workflows/README, ReleaseDryRun, and the maintainer README). The user-facing guides already used « bibliothèque »; this aligns the maintainer docs with them.

Testing

Documentation-only change — no source code is touched, so the build/test suites were not run. Verified structurally instead:

  • The English 0008 file changed only by the language banner (2 lines); its body is untouched.
  • The French 0008 translation mirrors the English section structure (including the ### Follow-up Actions nested under Consequences).
  • No occurrence of « librairie » remains anywhere under doc/.
  • The « librairie » → « bibliothèque » swap is safe: both are feminine, so no article or adjective agreement changes.

Documentation

  • README / doc/ updated — the ADR base and maintainer docs under doc/handwritten/for-maintainers/.

No public API or user-facing behavior changed.

Architecture decisions

  • No architectural decision in this pull request

Advisory note: ADR-0008 is an existing decision drafted elsewhere; this PR only adds its French translation and does not change its Proposed status (no agent accepts or supersedes an ADR).

Add the French translation (0008-...fr.md) of ADR-0008 and the language

bilingual. English stays canonical; the French text is a convenience for
the project's maintainers. ADR-0008 keeps its Proposed status.

Replace every remaining "librairie" with "bibliothèque" across the French
maintainer docs (the ADR base and the workflow / release / README pages),
so the French documentation uses a single term for the library. The
user-facing guides already used "bibliothèque"; this aligns the maintainer
docs — including the ADR translations — with them. Both words are feminine,
so no article or adjective agreement changes.
