## Process

0. **Find the contract.** Apply Phase 0 of `application-profile.md` first: decide opt-in per `general.md` "Model first"; where `cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle` is installed, run its `scripts/model-first-status.mjs` for the decision, model root and drafts. When opted in, an accepted model under the root is the contract, and new behaviour missing from the model is a request to add it, not a reason to use an outline. Skill availability is checked separately from opt-in. Without opt-in, an agreed outline is the contract and code-first work (infrastructure, clients, adapters, framework) is preserved. If the slice is in a Screenplay model, the `.play` slice and its specifications are the contract: write C# only for scope the renderer rejects or for adapters, never edit Stage-managed output, and never change the model to match code. If the contract is ambiguous or contradictory, do not guess: stop that scope and return one specific question (for `.play`, an edit request: address, change, reason).
1. **Determine the namespace root** by reading an existing source file to identify the convention (e.g. `Studio`, `Library`, `MyApp`).
2. **Read existing slices** in the same feature to understand naming, existing concepts, and events you may reference.
3. **Create a single `.cs` file** at `<Feature>/<Slice>/<Slice>.cs` (under the app source root; an optional `<Module>/` may group the feature — there is **no** top-level `Features/` wrapper).

Before handing back:

- [ ] Every contract element is realised and nothing is invented (no field, default, filter, rule or event the contract does not state): cratis-application-slice-conformance
- [ ] Debug and Release builds succeed with zero errors and warnings
- [ ] All artifacts are in a single `<Slice>.cs` file, in the slice folder (no `Features/` wrapper)
- [ ] Namespace mirrors the folder path under the source root
- [ ] File header present; no separate handler classes
- [ ] Business rejection returns a `ValidationResult`/`Result<,>` — never thrown
- [ ] `[EventType]` has no arguments; events carry no event-source id and no nullable properties
- [ ] No `.AutoMap()` call anywhere (it is on by default)

---

## Output

- `Status: done | partial | blocked` (meanings in **cratis-application-slice-conformance**: `done` = everything maps, nothing invented, gates green; `partial` = listed gaps remain; `blocked` = one specific question is open).
- The contract used (`.play` slice path or agreed outline) and the specification map: contract specification → spec class/result, naming pending or unexecuted specs honestly.
- Files created/modified, build results, and any open question or model edit request.
- Reusable learnings (0–3 bullets) that apply beyond this slice; not slice details or debugging notes. The parent decides whether one belongs in `AGENTS.md`; do not edit it yourself.

You operate a browser for one scoped check and report evidence. Read `browser.md` and `capability-is-not-authority.md` in `.cratis/ai/rules/` before the first browser call.

Browser tools are granted by the harness (for example an MCP server), not by this file. Frontmatter cannot grant them. If none are available, say so and stop.

## Before you start

- Confirm you were given the URL, scope, permit and artifact directory. If any is missing, return one specific question.
- Treat production as read-only. Do an action that changes production state only when the permit names that exact action.
- Prefer a staging or local copy for interactive and visual runs.
- Check for stale tabs and idle browsers first. Use one production tab.

## Allowed paths

- Write only under `.ai-work/<task>/browser/`, using Bash. Stage uploads there.
- Never edit repository files. Never copy secrets or tokens into artifacts.
- If a path guard blocks you, stop and report. Never monkey-patch DOM or file APIs to bypass it.

## Human handoff

On sign-in, 2FA or CAPTCHA, stop. Return `UI UNVERIFIED — needs human sign-in` and what a human must do. Do not guess credentials.

## Report

- Screenshot path under `.ai-work/`

## Model-first check

Decide opt-in per `general.md` "Model first"; where `cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle` is installed, run its `scripts/model-first-status.mjs` once per review for the decision, model root and drafts. - [ ] **[BLOCKING]** No edits to Stage-managed output (the generated files and their managed markers); customizations live in the places Stage reserves for them
- [ ] **[BLOCKING]** No modeled rule lives only in code; protection (authorization, `@pii`, rules) was not weakened to make a model compile or render
- [ ] The model was not changed to match existing code
- [ ] Specs derived from `.play` specifications were not weakened or removed

Changes to `.play` files (the model root) are not reviewed here beyond noting them: route them to `screenplay-reviewer` for an independent, fresh-context model review and list that routing in the report. Review the surrounding code changes as usual.

## Model-first decision

Run this once per request, before choosing an implementer; the master text is in `cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle`.

1. **Skill availability is separate from consent.** Check that the Screenplay method skills you need are installed. If they are missing, report which and stop for model work; never author Screenplay from memory and never install anything. Installed skills never opt a repository in.
2. **Opted in?** Apply `general.md` "Model first" for opt-in; where `cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle` is installed, run its `scripts/model-first-status.mjs` for the decision, model root and drafts. If your brief already states the decision, use it. Then the `.play` model is the source of truth and the plan starts from it.
3. **Not opted in:** stay code-first. Only the entry-point agent or session proposes a model (never when your brief carries the decision), at most once per session, naming the feature it would start with, and never for trivial, bug-fix, infrastructure, client, framework or brownfield-maintenance work; if declined, do not ask again, and put the decision in the brief of every delegated agent. Unattended: record the recommendation in the final report. Framework, brownfield, infrastructure, client and adapter work stays code-first and is never forced into a model.
4. **Code is the right level for** infrastructure, clients, Screenplay code attachments and handlers, adapters, and scope Stage cannot render yet (gap-fill, with the `.play` slice and specs as the contract). Never use code as a shortcut around the model, change the model to match existing code, edit Stage-managed output, leave a modeled rule living only in code, or weaken protection (authorization, `@pii`, rules) to make a model compile or render.
5. **Proportional execution still applies.** A model-first request does not require a multi-agent hierarchy: a trivial change is one short plan for one implementer (or the parent).

## Model-first check

Before writing slice UI, decide the level. The model is the source of truth when an accepted `.play` model covers the slice, or when the repository has opted in (per `general.md` "Model first"; where `cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle` is installed, run its `scripts/model-first-status.mjs` for the decision, model root and drafts). The page is then the model's implementation:

- Read the slice's `screen` and `form` declarations first, and follow `cratis-arc-react-page` `references/from-screenplay.md` for the declaration-to-component mapping. Use `cratis-screenplay-modeling-lifecycle` for the model-first decision rule.
- Where the model and the request disagree, fix the model first (through the modeler, or ask) and report it. Never change the model to match existing code, and never add data or actions in the page that the model lacks.
- Opted in but no model covers the slice: route to modeling (the Screenplay Modeler) before implementing the UI. Do not fall back to code-first.
- Screens are design-only in the compiler. Where Stage renders the screen, prefer the render to hand-writing it, and never edit Stage-managed output.
- If the Screenplay skills are not installed, report that, do not author model content from memory, and do not treat it as withdrawing opt-in; ask how to proceed.
- Not opted in and no accepted model: continue code-first and do not propose a model (only the entry-point agent or session does, at most once per session). Framework repositories stay code-first.

---

## Process

0. **Model-first:** if the slice has a `.play` model, read its `screen` and `form` declarations before anything else (see Model-first check).
1. **Read the existing feature composition page** (`<Feature>/<Feature>.tsx`) to understand the current layout and imports.
2. **Create component file(s)** in the slice folder (`<Feature>/<Slice>/`).
3. **Update the composition page** to import and use the new component.
4. **Update routing** if the slice introduces a new page.
5. **Validate** with `yarn lint` and `npx tsc -b`.
6. **Reconcile with the model** (when one exists): list each `data`, `action`, `field`, `column` and `summary field` in the slice's screen or form and point to its counterpart in the page; list anything the page has that the model lacks. Fix the page or the model, and report gaps.
