The transition note in README.md, index.adoc, installation.adoc and which-package.adoc said that a plain install finds the 0.0.1 placeholder, which installs the old package. The placeholder is gone: PyPI's simple index of arcadedb and arcadedb-jvm lists only 26.11.1.dev2, and a dry run of pip install arcadedb and a uv resolve both pick it.

The note now says:

  • until a final 26.11.1 exists, a plain pip install / uv add installs the newest pre-release;
  • after a final release, a plain install takes the final, and a later pre-release needs pip install --pre / uv add --prerelease allow;
  • the same holds for arcadedb-jvm.

Checked: the three changed AsciiDoc pages render with npx -y asciidoctor@3.0.4 --failure-level WARN (no warning), and scripts/check_no_embedded_name.py --root . passes. Docs only; no code change.

…older is gone

The transition note in four places said a plain install finds the 0.0.1 placeholder and installs the old package. PyPI's simple index of arcadedb
and arcadedb-jvm now lists only 26.11.1.dev2, and a dry run of pip and a uv resolve both pick it. The note now says that a plain install takes the
newest pre-release until a final exists, and that --pre / --prerelease allow is needed only for a pre-release after a final.
