Getting started with VoidX is incredibly straightforward.
- Head over to the Releases tab on this GitHub page.
- Download the latest
VoidX-x.x.x.AppImagebundle. - Open your terminal or file manager, and grant execute permissions to the AppImage:
chmod +x VoidX-1.0.0.AppImage
- Double-click the file or launch it from your console:
./VoidX-1.0.0.AppImage
- Download the latest
VoidX-Setup-x.x.x.exeinstaller from the Releases tab. - Run the installer and let the wizard complete.
- Launch VoidX directly from your Desktop or Start Menu!
Under the hood, VoidX runs a three-tier system:
- Frontend (React 19 & Vite): Smooth 60fps animations, fully responsive glassmorphism UI, custom HLS.js custom rendering, and rich metadata parsing.
- Local Python API Server (FastAPI): An optimized scraper that extracts stream directories securely, translates stream tokens, and presents uniform JSON outputs.
- Electron Core Shell: Controls native Chromium behaviors, runs the mDNS Cast discovery engine, injects local proxies, and isolates dangerous popup windows safely.

Make sure your firewall is not blocking incoming/outgoing connections on port 8000 (used for the video streaming proxy) and port 8005 (used for local source scrapers). VoidX automatically configures these, but restrictive security suites may interfere.
- Ensure both your PC and your phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Click the Cast / Proxy Sharing button inside the video player in VoidX.
