Summary

Types for the new errorHistory field on messages (textbee/textbee#421).

  • MessageErrorSource: 'device' | 'push' | 'server'.
  • MessageErrorEntry: code, at (ISO string), source, optional message, backfilled, deliveryReport.
  • errorHistory on the message type: oldest first; past 15 entries, the first 5 and the newest 10.
  • errorCode, errorMessage, failedAt docs: present only while the message is failed (test accounts can keep FCM_SEND_SKIPPED).

Additive only. Release after the API deploy.

Walkthrough

The package adds public types for message error history and an optional Message.errorHistory field. The field documentation describes entry ordering and retention. A getMessages test checks that a returned message preserves an error-history entry.

Pin deliveryReport in the errorHistory fixture so pnpm typecheck reports its removal.

The fixture is annotated as MessageErrorEntry, so TypeScript's excess-property check applies to it. If deliveryReport is removed from the type, pnpm typecheck (tsc --noEmit) reports an error on the fixture. The Vitest run does not, because the runtime assertion still passes. This adds narrow coverage for the public MessageErrorEntry contract. It is not a defect in the current code.

Suggested fix
     const entry: MessageErrorEntry = {
       code: 'FCM_SEND_FAILED',
       message: 'push failed',
       at: '2026-10-01T10:00:00.000Z',
       source: 'push',
       backfilled: true,
+      deliveryReport: false,
     }
