CHANGES.md was the only record of the 0.2.0, 0.3.0 and 0.4.0 releases; CHANGELOG.md began at 0.5.2. Deleting it outright would have discarded the project's early history, so those three entries are migrated first, with their original wording preserved and dates recovered from git: 0.4.0 2020-03-04 b541676 "bump to version 0.4.0" 0.3.0 2020-03-02 a1cb9bb "added pay-by-token method" 0.2.0 2017-09-28 edb34c2 first packaged release No changelog was kept for 0.5.0 or 0.5.1; that gap predates this change and is left as it is rather than reconstructed from commit messages. This is repository housekeeping with no packaging effect: CHANGES.md was already excluded from the 0.7.2 sdist and wheel by the MANIFEST.in fix, so the artifacts built at v0.7.2 remain valid and unchanged.
