Summary

  • declare the project license as MIT in Cargo.toml
  • add the standard MIT LICENSE file with Copyright (c) 2021-2026 Rust Italia
  • add a deny.toml allowlist so cargo deny check can validate the published dependency graph

License confirmation

This PR proposes distributing mdev under the MIT License. Please confirm that the license text and the Rust Italia copyright attribution are appropriate for the project.

@lu-zero @guerinoni @nappa85 @dodomorandi

If the attribution or year range should change, please say so here before this PR is merged.

Validation

  • cargo fmt --all -- --check
  • cargo check --workspace --all-targets --all-features
  • cargo test --workspace --all-targets --all-features
  • cargo test --workspace --all-features --doc
  • cargo clippy --workspace --all-targets --all-features -- -D warnings
  • cargo deny check
  • cargo package --allow-dirty --no-verify --list

Collaborator Author

@lu-zero @guerinoni @nappa85 @dodomorandi — please confirm the proposed MIT license and the Copyright (c) 2021-2026 Rust Italia attribution.

These are all four GitHub accounts with commits reachable from master. A confirmation from each of you would establish that the license and attribution are acceptable for the project.
