Goal
Make ProCoderJii a genuinely useful, student-first learning and campus-placement preparation platform that can grow sustainably. This is a planning issue to agree on priorities; the work should be split into focused issues and pull requests rather than one large change.
Areas to plan
- Student value and content: identify the main student journeys and prioritize accurate, practical, well-reviewed course resources, guides, and career information. Make it clear what is available and what is still planned.
- Campus-placement practice: shape the games area around placement preparation, not generic entertainment. Define useful practice areas, learning outcomes, hints or feedback, and an accessible mobile experience. Keep core practice usable without login unless accounts provide clear student value.
- Community and Code of Conduct: review the current Contributor Covenant adaptation so students and first-time contributors can understand expected behavior, how to report concerns, and how reports are handled. Make the project-specific enforcement and contact process clear.
- Dependabot noise: the current configuration already groups npm minor/patch updates by production and development dependencies and groups GitHub Actions updates. There are currently three open Dependabot PRs (chore(deps-dev): bump typescript from 5.9.3 to 7.0.2 #19–chore(deps-dev): bump eslint from 10.13.0 to 10.14.0 in the development-dependencies group #21), including a separate TypeScript major update. Review whether the schedule, grouping, major-update policy, and PR limits are useful while keeping security updates visible and timely.
- SEO and discovery: prioritize helpful, original content and strong technical foundations: correct metadata and canonicals, crawlable internal links, useful sitemap/indexing rules, appropriate structured data, and mobile performance. Define how search visibility and student usefulness will be measured without producing thin or repetitive pages.
- Scalability and maintenance: plan how content is reviewed and published, how quality is kept consistent, and what architecture or operational changes are needed as traffic and contributions grow.
- Future monetization: explore sustainable options for later while protecting student trust, privacy, and access to core learning resources. Sponsorships, affiliate links, or optional paid features are possibilities to evaluate, not decisions made by this issue.
Planning outcomes
- Agree on the primary student audiences and their most important journeys.
- Prioritize work into near-term, next, and later stages based on student impact and effort.
- Define what makes placement-oriented games educationally useful and how progress should work.
- Identify specific Code of Conduct and contribution-process improvements.
- Decide whether Dependabot needs further tuning based on the current grouped setup and actual review burden.
- Establish an SEO/content approach and a small set of useful success measures.
- Record scalability and future monetization guardrails.
- Create separate, actionable issues for approved work.
This issue does not imply that every proposed area must be implemented immediately; priorities should follow student benefit and available maintainer capacity.
