I'm Chris — a sound designer and researcher working in theatre and performance, teaching at University of the Arts Sharjah in the UAE. I build tools because the ones I need don't exist, and I believe that if you can't make a tool do what you want it to do, it's not your tool.

Using my tools the way I want to is art. My zsh setup is art. The months I've spent refining my Hermes agent — the one that helps me write, rehearse, and think — is art. The repos here are the parts of that practice I can share.

The things that are me

callsheet — a calm, minimal desktop day-board for macOS. Colour-coded cards for research, making, teaching, body, admin. It holds, it never pings. I built it because I needed a thing no one else was doing. A friend said: "As an ADHD'er constantly on the hunt for gentle & nice planning/prioritising/executing dashboards…this looks incredible Wenno!!" I didn't make it for her. But it resonated. That's the whole point.

loreweaver — a local-first TTRPG tool, currently running a FATE of Cthulhu campaign. A hobby, and it's mine.

Hermes — I live in Hermes Agent. This profile, my federation across machines, the plugins I maintain for it — that's where the real work happens. Most of it is private, because it's a rehearsal room, not a show. But the practice is the point.

Coming

Enodios — an Obsidian plugin, named for Hermes as protector of travellers and god of crossroads. It's the direction I'm heading. Not ready to talk about yet.

A Zotero plugin — for the way I actually do research. Name TBD.

What I maintain

A set of plugins for the BB agentic IDE — unslop, noema, headroom, noisegate, rtk, progressive-skill, security-guidance. The platform is BB's; I maintain these for the ecosystem. Where the patterns are mine, they're mine; where they build on the work of others, that work is credited. These are transitional — the work I'm proudest of is the work that's mine.

Where I stand

A space I set up is queer friendly. It yields space to voices that aren't mine. It stands with, not for.

My code is here for who you are, so long as you give the same affordance to others.

Also: no fucking Nazis.

People

Ben Knight — my oldest friend. The sole reason I know anything about Unix, and a huge part of why I'm an electronic musician and sound designer. He's going to have to suck it.

Rob Stewart — my creative brother. He gave me the tools to improvise, and he has never, ever left me hanging.

reVerse Butcher — someone I admired before I'd even met them, a completely mad bastard spoken word/visual/VR artist, who made the profile picture I use everywhere.

Support

This work is funded by my salary and my evenings. If it helps you and you'd like to help keep it going — including keeping the Apple developer account alive so callsheet stays on macOS — you can sponsor me on GitHub Sponsors or Ko-fi. No pressure. Presence not pressure.
