- with -C link-self-contained=no properly set via the per-target CARGO_TARGET_<triple>_RUSTFLAGS, rustc passes no crt objects, so the wrapper only needs to translate rust triples to zig targets - drop the crt objects / -nostartfiles / -lc filtering (only needed when the flags do not reach rustc) - use the per-target rustflags form (CARGO_TARGET_RUSTFLAGS is not honored by cargo)
