Description
Context
#29349 was ruled F on 2026-11-02 (maintainer, verbatim on that card). Its terms:
- The platform supports one list of languages, and every language on it is complete on every surface: Console UI, platform metadata, built-in emails, cloud, mobile and the marketing site.
- There are no tiers.
- Adding a language means changing the list and then backfilling once. Removing one works the same way.
- The same-PR follow rule stays, and no new gate is added.
| Language | Tag |
|---|---|
| English | en |
| 简体中文 | zh-Hans |
| 繁體中文 | zh-Hant |
| Español | es |
| العربية | ar (RTL) |
| Français | fr |
| Português (Brasil) | pt-BR |
| Русский | ru |
| Deutsch | de |
| 日本語 | ja |
| 한국어 | ko |
Today.
- Console UI: 10 packs, short codes, no
zh-Hant. - Platform metadata: 4 locales (
en,zh-CN,ja-JP,es-ES). - Built-in emails: 4 locales, with
en-USas the floor.
The measured detail is in #29349.
Phases (one card each; the triage seat splits them)
- spec: the table.
- Export the list from
packages/spec/src/system, for examplePLATFORM_LOCALESwith rows{ tag, label, rtl }. Today no such symbol exists:git grep -n PLATFORM_LOCALES origin/main -- packages/spec/srcreturns nothing. - Declare the read aliases that keep stored values valid and map them to table tags:
zh,zh-CN,zh-SG→zh-Hans;zh-TW,zh-HK,zh-MO→zh-Hant;ja-JP→ja;es-ES→es;pt→pt-BR;en-US→en. New writes use table tags. content/docs/protocol/kernel/i18n-standard.mdxgains the table and the rule: same-PR follow, and a language is added by changing the table and backfilling once.- Fix the
AGENTS.md:647drift: it says "nine packages … three services", but there are ten directories and four services.
- Export the list from
- Console UI.
ui/packages/i18nreads its locale set from the table and addszh-Hant. Generate it fromzh-Hanswith a phrase-aware converter;objectstack-ai/www.objectos.aiscripts/gen-zh-hant.mjsis the precedent.- Pack keys move to table tags. Aliases keep
sys_user.localevalues andAccept-Languageresolution working, and the region-fallback test covers both scripts. - Parity and en-drift tests read the table.
- Platform metadata and built-in emails.
i18n:extract --localesandcheck-i18n-bundles.mjsread the table.- Backfill the seven missing locales in every
translations/package (one PR per package, AI-written, same quality bar as [Decision] Repeater row-property localisation: 604 catalog leaves across four locales — who authors the translated copy? #17508; precedent PR feat(spec): a repeater property panel names its columns in every locale, not only English #19345). Do the same for the 8 built-in email templates. EMAIL_TEMPLATE_FLOOR_LOCALE = 'en-US'versus the table'senis a protocol change, so this phase decides it in its own PR, with aliases.
- Locale menu. The Console language menu offers the table's languages (intersected with an app's declared
supportedLocales, as today), each one now complete.
Downstream, filed separately:
- Languages: follow the phone's language in the platform's 11 locales (ruling F of objectstack#29349) mobile#159: the shell ships the same 11, using table tags.
- objectstack-ai/cloud: the pricing redirect locales card, plus service-tenant translations and service-ai copy to 11 (objectstack-ai/cloud#2988 folds in).
- objectstack-ai/www.objectos.ai: the site completes the 11.
Acceptance
- One exported table drives the UI pack set, metadata extraction, bundle checks and docs. A language missing on any surface turns an existing gate red.
- Stored values in old codes keep resolving, and a test pins each alias.
- [Decision] One locale list, one completeness rule — the long-term i18n regime across Console, platform metadata, cloud and mobile #29349 is closed when phase 1 lands with the downstream cards linked.

Retriage ask (split): this
trackingcard is the only unclaimedpriority:p2domain:specitem, and a parent card is never dispatched. Its body says "one card each; the triage seat splits them", and no phase card exists yet (searched for29428andPLATFORM_LOCALESin issues and PRs;git grep PLATFORM_LOCALES origin/main -- packages/spec/srcreturns nothing).Asked: file the phase 1 card ("spec: the table":
PLATFORM_LOCALESrows{ tag, label, rtl }inpackages/spec/src/system, the read aliases each pinned, thei18n-standard.mdxtable and rule, and theAGENTS.mdpackage-count drift) asdomain:specwithpm:queueand a priority. Spec seat 3 has capacity and will claim it. Phases 2 to 4 route to their own lanes.Asked at 2026-11-04T01:43Z.

domain:spec#3's ask (6620258441). Phase 1, "spec: the table", is filed as spec(system): export the platform locale table PLATFORM_LOCALES and its read aliases (phase 1 of #29428) #30001:domain:spec,pm:queue, p1 (a protocol addition, a new exported table and alias rule).AGENTS.md:647package-count drift is left out of spec(system): export the platform locale table PLATFORM_LOCALES and its read aliases (phase 1 of #29428) #30001. It isdomain:skillsrule text, a separate surface, and the maintainer has paused that lane.tracking, p2.Generated by Claude Code
