Problem

On Termux, Node reports process.platform as android instead of linux, so running mobilecli fails with:

Unsupported platform: android-arm64

Even with the launcher check bypassed, npm install skips @mobilenext/mobilecli-linux-arm64 because its os field only allows linux, so the launcher then fails with "Failed to find @mobilenext/mobilecli-linux-arm64".

Fix

  • index.js: add case "android": alongside case "linux": so Android uses the linux binaries
  • linux-arm64/package.json: allow android in the os field

The linux binaries run on Android as-is, so no new build is needed.

Testing

Tested on Termux (android-arm64): the manually downloaded mobilecli-linux-arm64 binary runs correctly.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Android devices with ARM64 or x64 architectures can use the corresponding Linux build, which is selected automatically. Other Android architectures remain unsupported.
    • Android and Termux now use file storage to save, load, and remove credentials instead of the system keyring. Other platforms continue using the keyring unless insecure storage is enabled.

The npm package selector maps Android arm64 and x64 to Linux packages. The Linux package manifests include Android. On Android and Termux, credential operations use file storage.

Verified on Termux (android-arm64): with this change mobilewright test launches mobilecli, allocates the device and runs a test that reads Termux's UI.

@Jobians thank you so much for the pull request! so sorry I wasn't available earlier. was presenting at flutter.con and I kept forgetting to reply to this PR.

Termux support is a nice addition. I'll merge and fix these:

  1. runtime.GOOS == "android" is dead code. CI builds with GOOS=linux (.github/workflows/build.yml), so the binary reports linux even on Termux, and only the TERMUX_VERSION check ever fires. Please drop the GOOS check, or swap it for something that actually detects Android at runtime.

  2. The credentials file fallback is silent. On Termux this is fine, since Android's per-app sandbox keeps the file private and it's written with 0600. But anyone with TERMUX_VERSION set now gets plaintext storage without being told. Could you print a one-line notice to stderr on login when this path is taken?

I thought of asking you to fix so I can merge. But I think it makes more sense to merge and fix, so I can release today. I believe you're blocked by this :). Thanks again for the PR, I'll add your name to changelog.

…storage (#505)

Follow-up to #499. runtime.GOOS is never "android" since CI builds with
GOOS=linux, so drop that check. On Termux, login now prints a notice to
stderr when the token falls back to the plaintext credentials file without
--insecure-storage.
