NordVPN to FRITZ!Box WireGuard Config Generator

A simple Bash script to generate WireGuard® configuration files for your AVM FRITZ!Box router directly from your NordVPN® account.

This tool automates the process of extracting the necessary keys and endpoint information from the official NordVPN Linux client.

Prerequisites

• Linux OS: A distribution with apt, dnf, or pacman (e.g., Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, Arch).
• FRITZ!Box Router: Must be running FRITZ!OS 7.50 or newer.
• Active NordVPN Subscription.

Quick Start

1. Clone the repository and make the script executable:

   git clone https://github.com/luca1844/NordVPN-to-FRITZ-Box-WireGuard-Config-Generator.git
   cd NordVPN-to-FRITZ-Box-WireGuard-Config-Generator
   chmod +x nordvpn-fritz-config.sh

2. Run the script with sudo:

   sudo ./nordvpn-fritz-config.sh [server]

   The script will automatically check for and offer to install any missing dependencies (curl, jq, wireguard-tools, nordvpn).

Usage Examples

• Interactive Mode (recommended for first use): The script will prompt you for the server you want to connect to.

  sudo ./nordvpn-fritz-config.sh

• Connect to a specific country:

  sudo ./nordvpn-fritz-config.sh ch  # Switzerland
  sudo ./nordvpn-fritz-config.sh us  # United States

• Connect to a specialty group:

  sudo ./nordvpn-fritz-config.sh P2P

• Non-Interactive Mode (for automation): The -y flag accepts all installation prompts automatically.

  sudo ./nordvpn-fritz-config.sh -y it

How to Import the Configuration into your FRITZ!Box

After the script runs, it will create a .conf file (e.g., fritzbox-nordvpn-ch123.conf).

1. Transfer the generated .conf file to your computer.
2. Log in to your FRITZ!Box (e.g., http://fritz.box).
3. Navigate to Internet > Permit Access > VPN (WireGuard).
4. Click "Add Connection", choose to import an existing configuration, and upload the .conf file.
5. 🚨 CRITICAL: Check the box "Send all IPv4 traffic over the VPN connection".
6. Save the settings. Your entire network is now protected.
