Hi, I'm Laura! πŸ‘‹

Behavioural Data Scientist | Psychology | Educational Science

I'm an interdisciplinary researcher with Master's degrees in Behavioural Data Science and Child Development & Education from the University of Amsterdam.

My work combines quantitative research, statistical modelling, and machine learning to better understand human behaviour, psychological processes, and educational outcomes.

I particularly enjoy working with complex datasets, exploring methodological challenges, and translating research questions into meaningful analyses.

🧠 Research Interests

  • Behavioural Data Science: Applying computational and statistical methods to understand human behaviour.
  • Psychometrics: Latent variable modelling, measurement invariance, and individual differences.
  • Machine Learning: Predictive modelling, model evaluation, and interpretable approaches.
  • Psychology & Education: Studying learning, development, and psychological processes through quantitative research.

πŸ’» Technical Skills

Programming & Data Analysis: R, Python, SQL

Statistical Methods: Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), Multilevel Modelling, Longitudinal Data Analysis, Generalized Linear Mixed Models (GLMMs), Network Analysis, Monte Carlo Simulation

Psychometrics: Classical Test Theory (CTT), Item Response Theory (IRT), Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA), Measurement Invariance Testing, Latent Variable Modelling

Machine Learning: Supervised Learning, Classification, Regression, Natural Language Processing

Research: Research Design, Data Management, Statistical Inference, Data Visualization

πŸ”¬ What I'm Currently Exploring

I'm interested in the intersection of computational methods and behavioural research, particularly how statistical and machine learning approaches can help us better understand complex psychological and social phenomena.

I'm continuously expanding my technical skills and exploring new methods and applications across research and industry.

🌍 Beyond Data

Outside of research and coding, I love travelling, exploring new cultures, learning languages, and discovering good food. I'm always curious about new places, people, and experiences.
