Please use GitHub's Report a vulnerability private security advisory flow for iris-Neko/codex-threadbox. Do not open a public issue for vulnerabilities involving command execution, IPC boundary bypasses, unsafe path handling, or unintended task deletion.
Include the affected version, operating system, reproduction steps, and impact. Do not include real conversation content or authentication material.
- The renderer runs with context isolation, Node integration disabled, and Chromium sandboxing enabled.
- IPC inputs are validated and constrained to known task IDs and working directories.
- The VS Code Webview uses a strict nonce CSP, local bundled resources, a method allowlist, typed responses, timeouts, and per-method parameter validation.
- Untrusted VS Code workspaces cannot start Codex, enumerate tasks, mutate task metadata, or open a task directory.
- Codex commands are spawned with argument arrays rather than user-built shell strings.
- Task mutations use official App Server methods.
- Desktop Recents repair is restricted to fixed statements against orphaned local-host rows in the derived catalog, after an online backup and integrity check.
- Optional project cleanup uses the operating system Trash after task deletion succeeds, with shared and protected path checks in the main process.
- The CLI and VS Code extension never delete working directories and never access the desktop Recents catalog.
- Threadbox has no telemetry and does not store conversation content.
