Summary

Checked GitHub Copilot CLI changelog (v1.0.79 – v1.0.83, covering the last ~7 days) for updates relevant to the Learning Hub (excluding cli-for-beginners, which is maintained separately).

New features found

  • Custom agent model fallback lists (v1.0.83): model in agent frontmatter can now be an array tried in order, with model-policy: required to lock model changes to that list.
  • MCP OAuth CIMD support (v1.0.83): Client ID Metadata Document support for MCP OAuth sign-in.
  • New models: claude-fable-5.1 (v1.0.83), kimi-k3 (v1.0.79) — supplementing existing entries for Grok 4.5/4.6, Gemini 3.7 Flash, Claude Opus 5.
  • Retired Claude/Gemini models removed from the /model picker (v1.0.83) — noted for accuracy.

Pages updated

  • website/src/content/docs/learning-hub/building-custom-agents.md — documented model fallback arrays and model-policy.
  • website/src/content/docs/learning-hub/copilot-configuration-basics.md — added kimi-k3, claude-fable-5.1, and note on retired model removal to the model aliases section.
  • website/src/content/docs/learning-hub/understanding-mcp-servers.md — documented CIMD support for MCP OAuth.

All three pages had their lastUpdated front matter bumped to 2026-09-04.

Source

No new dedicated page was warranted — these are incremental feature additions to existing documented areas rather than a major new capability requiring standalone documentation.
