OpenPost composer with six social destinations, a command-review meme, and scheduling and publishing controls

You already have the material. A launch, a product update, the bug you finally fixed. OpenPost turns it into the right version for each account, publishes it when you want, and brings the results, replies, and messages back into one place.

What OpenPost does

  • Composer. Write one post or thread, then change the text, media, format, timing, and platform settings for each account.
  • Social Sets. Save groups of accounts you usually post to together.
  • Calendar and scheduling. Plan ahead, use saved posting slots, and see what is drafted, scheduled, published, failed, or waiting to retry.
  • Image Editor. Make posts, carousels, Stories, and thumbnails with layers, templates, text, shapes, brand assets, background removal, and version history.
  • Video Editor. Edit video on a multitrack timeline with effects, transitions, motion, color, audio, captions, transcription, and local AI tools.
  • Quick Cut. Cut video and audio without re-encoding when possible, or make exact cuts when you need them.
  • Recorder. Record your screen, camera, and microphone as separate synced tracks, then open them in the Video Editor.
  • Meme creator. Pick a template or describe the joke, change the captions, preview it, and attach it straight to your post.
  • Media library. Keep images, videos, designs, exports, tags, alt text, and reusable assets together.
  • Brand kit. Save your colors and fonts so they are ready inside the Image Editor.
  • Analytics. Track follower growth and post results. Views, impressions, and reach stay separate because platforms do not mean the same thing by them.
  • Comments and replies. Pull supported replies into one inbox, respond to them, and moderate where the platform allows it.
  • Direct messages. Read and send supported DMs without jumping between social apps.
  • Notifications. Get alerts for failed posts, account problems, replies, messages, workspace invites, and successful posts. Email can be immediate or sent as a daily digest.
  • Grow. Find people worth following on Bluesky and Mastodon using followers, mutuals, and follow-back signals. OpenPost never follows anyone for you.
  • Auto reposts. Repost content from another account after a delay or once it reaches the engagement rules you set.
  • AI writing. Use Ideate when you need something to post about or Build with AI when you already have the idea. OpenPost can make a different draft for every destination, and you review it before anything changes.
  • Workspaces. Keep separate brands, clients, accounts, media, schedules, and members apart.
  • Android app. Capture posts, attach photos, publish or schedule, and check your calendar and queue from your phone.
  • API, CLI, and MCP. Let scripts and AI tools work with the same posts and permissions as the web app without giving them your social account passwords.

OpenPost is built around your own social accounts. It covers creating content, publishing it, talking to people, tracking the results, and growing your accounts where the social network lets us.

It is not a CRM, ad manager, or broad social listening tool.

Hosted runs OpenPost for you. Self-hosting means you own the server, backups, updates, provider apps, and secrets.

Supported platforms

OpenPost includes publishing integrations for these ten destinations.

LinkedIn supports profiles and Organization Pages. Facebook supports Pages, Instagram supports Business and Creator accounts, and Discord publishes through webhooks.

Support differs by feature. A platform can support publishing without supporting DMs, comments, analytics, or Grow. Some also require app review, certain account types, extra permissions, or public media URLs. OpenPost shows what is missing before you publish.

No posting option has passed our final live check on OpenPost Hosted yet.

A social app can appear in OpenPost before it is ready for real accounts.

Pinterest, Telegram bot connections, and Discord bot connections are not public posting options without current live certification. Discord incoming webhooks remain the supported Discord connection.

Get started

Hosted We host, update, and operate OpenPost. Start a 14-day trial →
Self-host Run OpenPost on your own server with Docker. Read the quickstart →
Automate Connect scripts and AI tools through the API, CLI, or MCP server. Set up MCP →

To run OpenPost yourself:

git clone https://github.com/getopenpost/openpost.git
cd openpost
cp .env.example .env
# Set fresh secrets and OPENPOST_APP_URL, OPENPOST_PUBLIC_URL, and OPENPOST_MEDIA_URL.
docker compose up -d

Open http://localhost:8080, create the first account, and connect a social account.

The default setup runs one container with SQLite, local media, and database-backed jobs. The published container supports linux/amd64 only. ARM64 hosts need amd64 emulation. A native ARM64 image requires a custom build and its own runtime validation.

Automate it

The API, CLI, and MCP server work with the same saved posts and workspace permissions as the app. They can create, validate, schedule, and inspect publications without access to your social account credentials.

Give each client its own token, use the narrowest scope that works, and bind it to one workspace when possible.
