Images under <img src> never appeared in the mount because only <a href> anchors were extracted. Extract the full set of resource references through the same pipeline as anchors (resolution, cross-origin filtering, target deduplication, name generation): - img (src, srcset), source (src, srcset), video, audio, script (src), link (href), iframe, frame, embed, track (src), object (data), input[type=image] (src), area (href) - img alt text is used as the naming anchor when non-empty and unique on the page (pre-pass detection); empty or duplicated alts fall back to the URL filename - srcset candidates are expanded, width/scale descriptors stripped - resolve_target_url() now rejects non-http(s) schemes (data:, javascript:, mailto:, ...), which were previously mis-resolved as relative paths Adds 10 unit tests, integration coverage (img/video/stylesheet extraction, data: URI rejection), and spec/usage documentation.
BREAKING CHANGE: the --html-is-directory flag is removed. Use --website-mode instead to promote linked text/html resources into virtual directories. The internal CONFIG.html_is_directory field is renamed to CONFIG.website_mode.
Non-anchor references (img, srcset, source, video, audio, script, link, iframe, frame, object, embed, track, input[type=image], area) are now materialized only when --website-mode is enabled; in normal mode only <a href> hyperlinks appear in the mounted tree. The img-alt duplicate pre-pass is skipped outside --website-mode. Non-http(s) scheme rejection in resolve_target_url() remains active in both modes. Adds a unit test covering the mode gating and a default-mode integration check asserting media/asset resources stay hidden.
Hide directory entries from listings until their file count is known, loading each subdirectory's listing in the background. Normal mode only; background work is bounded to browsed directories plus one level ahead. A single worker thread drains the queue and drives all fetches concurrently on the shared curl multi handle (no thread per fetch; I/O concurrency is libcurl's). The per-transfer state machine (redirect hops with cross-origin checks, temporary-failure retries, max_html_size cap) runs in a completion callback under the transfer lock, mirroring the synchronous Link_download_full() path. Failed preloads unhide the entry and degrade to on-demand loading. The download-then-attach sequence is split into shared halves (LinkTable_begin_listing / finish_listing / attach_loaded) so the sync and async loaders reuse identical code. The worker is started from the FUSE init callback so it survives the daemonizing fork. Docs: spec, usage, and README; unit + integration coverage.
The doc still described the earlier thread-per-fetch design in a few spots. Correct it to match what was actually built: - §4.3 reframe: LinkTable_load_and_attach is the on-demand client loader; the worker drives the split halves (begin/setup_full_download/finish/ attach_loaded) rather than calling it. Name the shared pieces. - §3: drop the "no modifications to src/transfer.c" claim, now false. - §5/§4.3: drop brittle src/link.c line numbers (they had moved). - §8: fix "enqueue/ dequeue" typo.
The async preload path checked no cache: every preloaded directory made one request even when a fresh container existed. The worker now serves a fresh cached listing in place, sharing the extracted LinkTable_try_load_cached() with the synchronous loader. Resolves the spec's 'preloaded listings skip the cache read' gap.

Update --progressive-dir-preload to --progressive-directory-preload in the configuration and CLI options table to match the registered option.
Fix missing period and subject-verb agreement in the directory preloading section. In the Airsonic section, correct "dedicated the my" to "dedicated to my", add missing space after "Charaoui.", and update the USAGE.md link to point to docs/usage.md.
When stopping the preload worker, abort active in-flight curl handles under transfer_lock and cancel pending retry deadlines so that shutdown does not wait indefinitely for stalled connections. Also discard any remaining items in the preload queue without starting new transfers during shutdown, update the preload specification, and add a unit test for transfer_abort_nonblocking.

data:candidates as complete URLs.
process_srcset_refstops at the first comma. Fordata:image/png;base64,AAAA, https://example.test/image.jpg, it rejects the truncateddata:image/png;base64token, then resolvesAAAAas a relative resource. This creates a spurious file. The HTTP(S) candidate remains reachable in this valid comma-separated form.Use data-aware srcset parsing so the complete
data:URL is passed toresolve_target_url, which can then reject it as one non-HTTP(S) reference.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents
