…witch username to mbchars.
mbchars.py puts the remix's printed parts together from its STLs (no assembled file exists): the three front sections where the joint bars' 36 mm insert pitch puts their lug holes, the covers on the sixteen inserts, the USB retainer on its boss and the stands on the bottom edge, each step checked against the README (410.28 x 176.16 x 42 mm), the board's encoder grid, the 320 x 160 mm panel and boolean overlaps. assemble.mjs learns ledTurn (the panel lies the long way here) and knobLook (the official knob, printed white), and lib/looks.mjs pla_orange, the 3MF's own #F46B16. The other three models rebuild byte-identical; the new one is 380 KB. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01QGBYm64PnfneJq2ZDJ8Gs7
…horizontal desktop one The card is the remix README's own facts and photos (resized to 1200 px), the preview shows the device in the case, and the switch is four tabs, two by two on a phone. A case too wide for the view at the one scale (this one, 41 cm across on a desktop's tall canvas) is drawn smaller by as little as keeps it clear of the arrows; every case still fits at the one scale on a phone, and the three upright ones on a desktop. What
Mykyta Bilous' (@mbchars) horizontal desktop printed case comes in as the third enclosure remix (
hardware/case/remixes/mbchars-horizontal-desktop-printed/) — the commit from #488 (a22659d), unchanged, with Mykyta Bilous as its author. On top of it, the case becomes the fourth one in /build's case switch and 3D preview, after the official v3.9 case, Besoiobiy's and SimonePDA's:
tools/case-models/mbchars.pyassembles the model from the remix's STLs (there is no assembled file) and checks it against the README (410.28 × 176.16 × 42 mm, encoder grid, 320 × 160 mm panel, no overlapping parts). The new model is 0.38 MB and loads only when picked; the other three rebuild byte for byte.Commits:
a22659d(Mykyta Bilous, from #488 as is) →tools:case model →web:fourth case in /build →docs:changelog.Why
Supersedes #488: it carries #488's commit as is, so the case design, photos and assembly instructions stay credited to @mbchars (CC BY-SA 4.0), and adds the preview so the case shows on /build like the other remixes.
Reviewed and merged in the fork first, with screenshots (arrows through four cases on desktop, author's photo beside the preview, 390 px phone): Patternflow-lab#5
Merge with a merge commit or rebase (not squash) so
a22659dkeeps @mbchars as its author. Not in this PR:
BUILD_GUIDE.md§4 and the table indocs/assembly/README.mddon't point at the new remix yet.Tested
