Is there a desire to release right away? We're still working on Granite 9, so we'd need to make another release when that's ready too

Yeah, it would feel like there are few changes with this release. However, I personally think we might want this, because rebase onto GNOME runtime 51 is included.

After 8.2.1, which based on GNOME runtime 48, we couldn't release new version 9.0.0 with a newer GNOME runtime for about one year. This resulted:

• the Flatpak CI in some apps that requires newer libadwaita or GTK 4 had been failing
• we'd been using a runtime that based on a EOLed runtime (GNOME 48 was EOL on March 24, 2026)

I don't insist on releasing this, but since we're still working on Granite 9 and not decided when to release, so I thought it would be safer to release a new version now so that the above problems don't occur again.
