AGENTS.md is the shared briefing for coding assistants: the component layout, build and test commands, and the core's house style. CLAUDE.md imports it for Claude Code. Personal configuration goes in the gitignored CLAUDE.local.md; CONTRIBUTING describes the layout and the shadow-repo symlink pattern.
