Moving discussion from #457 over here. Right now, we're continuing to wedge in Droidplug, a system that we've been cargo culting from an anonymous developer who hasn't been around in 3 years. While it seems to work, there's a lot of issues with it, and there may be cleaner solutions. This issue is for trying to figure out what those might be.
