…sion gate The gate counted decoded pixels the GPU route never holds in the API process, so a 16-photo request of 20 MP filled the per-process cap and queued the next request on the same worker. Also times the GPU decode call as its own stage.
Adds OP_INGEST_READ_THREADS and the file_read stage.
…SEARCH_DATA Measured NVMe against NAS data directories, bulk levers and mixed load; extends os_write_ceiling with node counters and index-setting arms.

[0.6.0]changelog with highlights, upgrade notes (behaviour changes, the 25 newOP_*variables, removed routes and fields), release notes indocs/releases/v0.6.0.md, and the version bump across the repo.docs/PERFORMANCE.md, the benchmark driver (scripts/bench/scale_run.py) and the pinned Open Images fetcher.docs/design/ingest_write_path_investigation.md) with two fixes: the admission gate no longer charges GPU-decoded photos their decoded size, and/ingest/batchreads source files in parallel off the event loop (OP_INGEST_READ_THREADS). A 20 MP workload went from 21.0 to 27.2 img/s (94% of the baseline) in the re-check; plus the OpenSearch storage sizing page andOP_OPENSEARCH_DATA.Checks run so far: hooks, contracts in sync, docs checker, docs-site build,
release-verify. CI runs the full suite once here. After merge: screenshots refresh, Trivy dry run and images, then the owner decides the tag.
