Infinite update loop & home page customisation bug

Steps to reproduce

1. open settings menu
2. scroll to the bottom
   --
3. open home page tab

Expected behavior

1. version number should be updated to reflect the installed update
2. update notification should only return "latest update" on manual check

3. home page should reflect customisation settings such as specific categories or explicitly nothing when none are selected.

Actual behavior

1. Version still reads as v1.2.0 (as seen in settings menu)
2. With "auto check for updates" enabled, this triggers an infinite update loop.
3. Home Page customisation settings are ignored and loading videos even when explicitly set to show nothing.

i didnt understand what you said about the infinite update loop i first checked the whole update logic then published the release the auto update check is perfectly working and i am using 1.3..0 version downloded from github and for customisation if you do any changes then it is required to do restart means app reopen then you will see changes

can you please tell us more about infinite update loop then ill try to fix it
