Add the first @csound/plugins npm package for the double-precision Csound 7 browser engine. It includes Chua, image, and linear algebra as WASI side modules, asset URL exports, TypeScript declarations, and third-party license notices. Nix builds the existing CMake targets and static PIC dependencies without source patches.

Use the released @csound/wasm-bin SDK and @csound/browser runtime recorded in the npm lockfile. Local builds and CI use the same build, test, and pack commands. The docs point to the package and Nix pin files instead of repeating revisions, and cover both withPlugins and filesystem loading with --opcode-lib.

The WASM workflow uses the csound Cachix cache with CACHIX_AUTH_TOKEN; fork PRs can read the cache without the secret. The workflows use current stable action releases. CI loads all three plugins together and packs an npm tarball. Native Csound 7 jobs still build Linux, CUDA, macOS, and Windows artifacts.

The package stays private until its first npm release. The README lists the dependency update and release steps. This PR does not publish to npm, and the first WASM build leaves STK and the other plugin groups disabled.

📝 Walkthrough

The pull request adds a Csound 7 WASI build for three plugins, an npm package that exposes their asset URLs, runtime tests, and a workflow that builds and uploads the package archive. It also updates action versions in existing plugin build workflows.

Changes: WASM plugin package

Layer / File(s) Summary
Configure WASI plugin targets
7.x/CMakeLists.txt, 7.x/cmake/Modules/FindCSOUND.cmake, 7.x/cmake/WasmPlugins.cmake
CMake detects WASI, requires the Csound 7 SDK, and configures plugin targets as WebAssembly executables. WASM package detection requires the Csound include directory.
Build and stage plugin binaries
wasm/nixpkgs.nix, wasm/default.nix, wasm/scripts/build.sh
The pinned Nixpkgs expression and derivation configure the WASI dependencies and build three plugins. The build script stages the binaries and license files in the distribution directory.
Expose and validate plugin assets
package.json, index.js, index.d.ts, wasm/tests/runtime.test.js, README.md, THIRD_PARTY.md, wasm/README.md
The package manifest defines its exports and scripts. The package exposes URLs for the Chua, image, and linear-algebra plugins. Runtime tests check their binary structure and execution; documentation describes package use, build details, and third-party notices.
Build and upload the npm archive
.github/workflows/plugins_wasm.yml, .gitignore
The workflow builds and packs the package, then uploads the archive. It runs for pull requests, pushes to develop, and manual dispatch. Ignore rules cover generated build and package paths.

Native plugin workflow action updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Update native workflow actions
.github/workflows/plugins_build.yml, .github/workflows/plugins_build_7.yml
The existing workflows update checkout, cache, artifact-upload, and artifact-download action versions. Artifact names and paths remain unchanged.

The package workflow remains mergeable, but disabling unused Git credentials would reduce token exposure during builds.

Addressed the CodeRabbit feedback in 70ead80:

  • Set persist-credentials: false on the WASM checkout. Later build and test steps do not need the checkout token, so Git no longer keeps it available to them.
  • Added a docstring to the runtime test helper to explain what it renders, what the check callback receives, and when it destroys the Csound instance.
