Description

Adds a Separator component to @clerk/mosaic, plus its swingset page.

<Separator />               // a plain 1px line
<Separator>or</Separator>   // a labelled divider: ──── or ────
  • Renders a div with role='separator'. It is horizontal only.
  • Without children, the root is the line. null, false, undefined and '' count as no children.
  • With children, the root becomes a flex row. Its ::before and ::after draw the lines, and the label is styled at the sm text size in --cl-color-foreground-secondary. The root gets data-labelled.
  • Takes render and xstyle and forwards its ref, like the other Mosaic components.
  • Swingset: a Components page with Default and Labelled examples.

Item.Separator, ActionBar.Separator and Menu.Separator are unchanged. The sign-in divider will move to this component in a follow-up, after kylemac/list-mosaic-sign-in-flows lands.

Walkthrough

Adds and exports a Separator component with plain and labelled styles. It forwards its ref and supports rendering through render and custom styles. Tests cover child-based style selection, custom rendering, style merging, and ref forwarding. The pull request also adds two stories, registers the component in Swingset, and adds component documentation. The changeset file contains two YAML document delimiters with no content between them.

- packages/mosaic/src/styles/index.ts - export Separator from the CSS barrel so its styles reach dist/styles.css
- packages/swingset/src/lib/registry.ts - sort the separator stories import (Static analysis lint)

Use the component's border token in the Styling example.

The Styling section says both forms read --cl-color-border. The CSS example sets --cl-color-border-subtle instead. The component uses --cl-color-border for the plain line and both labelled pseudo-elements. A reader who copies the example gets a different line color.

Suggested fix
-  background-color: var(--cl-color-border-subtle);
+  background-color: var(--cl-color-border);
