Why

In Herdr Desktop, Cmd+D splits a pane, but hitting Ctrl+D by mistake sends EOF and ends the shell. Herdr TUI used Ctrl+A v for the split, and that habit kept causing the slip.

What

  • herdr/desktop/keys.json: versioned Desktop keys. They keep the previous bindings and add the Herdr TUI prefix keys as Ctrl+A sequences: v, -, x, z, h/j/k/l, c, n/p, 1..9, Shift+X/T/N/W/D, b, s, ?, Option+K/J.
  • install.sh: links keys.json into ~/.config/herdr-app/, following the existing theme/layout pattern.
  • docs/keymaps.md: documents the Desktop keys and the TUI actions that have no Desktop command (detach, workspace picker, pane cycling, pane rename, resize mode, focus agent 1–9).

Verification

  • Ctrl+A v was tested live in Herdr Desktop 0.1.10 and opens a split. Sequences work because keys.json entries become GPUI KeyBindings.
  • All open windows reloaded the file with errors: [].
  • bash -n install.sh passes.
  • The other mapped keys are not yet tested one by one.

Version keys.json with Ctrl+A sequences (Ctrl+A v splits right, as in the TUI)
so Cmd+D vs Ctrl+D slips stop ending the shell.
