Add per-cache SYNC/ASYNC maintenance selection to
CacheBuilder, preserving the ASYNC default and existing caller behavior. Explicit selection overrides the legacy shared toggle; refresh stays asynchronous and zero-capacity eviction stays inline. Include the new enum in Lucene's embedded cache classes.Tests cover executor selection, refresh overriding SYNC, and zero size/weight overriding ASYNC and refresh, including zero weight with refresh and SYNC. Brief comments explain the failure scenarios these tests protect.
Validation with Java 17: 245 Core SPI tests (three existing skips), including 26 maintenance cases; API baseline, coverage and license checks passed. Previously verified: 12 extracted-text cache tests and isolated Lucene bundle loading and execution of both modes.
