Local Development

bun run start

This command starts a local development server and opens up a browser window. Most changes are reflected live without having to restart the server.

Note

For local search functionality to work, you must run bun run build (and then bun run serve). The search index is generated during the build process and is not available in development mode.

Build & Serve

bun run build
bun run serve

This command generates static content into the build directory and can be served using any static contents hosting service.

Agent skill publishing

bun run build generates the agent assets, builds the site, and verifies the result. Both pull-request CI and release CI run this command. A release publishes the checked assets to GitHub Pages, including the .well-known directory.

The public endpoints are:

• /skill.md and /.well-known/agent-skills/anytype-api/SKILL.md: raw skill Markdown
• /.well-known/agent-skills/index.json: discovery manifest with a SHA-256 digest
• /.well-known/skills/index.json: the legacy discovery format and its skill file
• /llms.txt: links to the skill, API v2 documentation, and the stable v1 reference
• /openapi-v2.yaml: the same API specification used by this site

The authored skill lives at core/api/v2/SKILL.md in anytype-heart. Refresh the committed snapshot from a local checkout when syncing the v2 API docs:

bun run build

Commit both files under data/agent-skill/. source.json records the upstream revision, whether the skill has local edits, and the exact content digest. Review the source skill before syncing: this command copies its content without rewriting it. Builds use the snapshot without network access or a sibling checkout. This also allows previewing upstream revisions that have not been pushed yet.

Generated files under static/ are ignored by Git. For a standalone generation or validation, run bun run gen-agent-docs or bun run check-agent-docs. The build check fails if any asset is missing or stale, the skill digest differs, or a documentation link in llms.txt does not resolve inside the build.

Once a release publishes these endpoints, users can install the skill with:
