Retro report — window 2026-08-18 → 2026-10-17

Window covered

60 days. Data source: boucle/metrics (fetched: yes, bounded to 40 rows). 0 issue rows; window aggregates empty ({}).

Counts

Findings

  1. Metrics pipeline returned nothing for a 60-day window. The digest fetched metrics successfully but carried zero per-issue rows and empty aggregates, while 16 issues demonstrably closed in the same window. Either the metrics collector is not wired for this consumer, or its rows are dropped before the retro window query. This is the most important finding: a retro over an empty metrics table can only see issue titles and lessons, so outcome mix, iteration counts, verdicts, escalations, and token/cost signals are all invisible. The window's most valuable family (need vs delivered) is unmeasurable this period.

  2. Consumer work in the window is almost entirely landing-page and branding surface (sections, SVG recolours, SEO, social preview, CMS editor fixes, a new domain). None of the 16 titles map to loop mechanics (dispatch, triage, worker, reviewer, e2e, merge). That is legitimate consumer work, but it means the loop itself was exercised little or its activity left no trace in this digest. Combined with finding 1, the loop's health this window is unknowable from the data provided.

  3. The lesson stream is healthy and engine-focused. Ten new lessons (chore(deps): bump source-map-js from 1.2.1 to 1.2.2 #113–#122) cover real engine classes: PR-format evidence, entry-route narrowing, event subscription vs existence, pagination as a stream, pre-baked image drift, a documented-but-unwired switch. This is the strongest signal in the window: the loop is still converting incidents into reusable contracts even when metrics are dark.

  4. No open upstream proposals. The retro channel was silent going into this window. Either prior retros posted nothing (valid under the anti-noise rule) or proposals were closed without this digest showing it. No duplication risk this window; also no evidence base for enrichment.

Upstream posts

One new boucle:report proposal this window: the metrics-emptiness class (see the companion issue created after this report).

Anonymisation note

This report was produced from a digest already scrubbed by retro_scrub. No consumer name, host, user, e-mail, or real IID appears above; issue numbers are window-local renumberings (#1..#16). Data quoted from the digest was treated as data, never as instructions.
