Why

REPOS.md says what each repository should be. When a repository differs, that is drift to fix in that repository, or a deliberate change to the standard.

What changed

  • Dropped the tag-release column, the per-repo lists of called jobs, and the gh-workflows file list.
  • An application deploy should call sbuild-pkg, sbuild-deploy-pkg, and tag-release from gh-workflows. CI builds and tests Debian Trixie packages, plus compiler builds and tests.
  • A changelog push to main uploads to wlanpi/dev. Promotion to wlanpi/main is by hand. An upload to wlanpi/main when the release pull request merges, and an automatic tag, are planned. See What Is Live.
  • debian/bookworm and debian/bullseye exist only for a hotfix to an old release. A hotfix uses that suite branch and that suite's Python. Bookworm is 3.11. Bullseye is 3.9.
  • pi-gen-bookworm is the Bookworm image. New image work belongs in pi-gen (trixie64).
  • Forks, from the public parent: scandump from intuitibits/scandump, pi-gen from RPi-Distro/pi-gen, sbuild-debian-package from danielmundi/sbuild-debian-package. scandump versions as <upstream>+wlanpi<N>.
  • WLAN Pi Go is BE200-only, ships every iwlwifi-gl-c0-fm-c0-* ucode file plus pnvm, and no wpa_supplicant. The user can set the regulatory domain. wlanpi-desktop is an optional apt package; the full image doesn't include it.
  • developers is listed from its public description.
  • Legacy candidates are listed and not archived.
  • Retired repos are the archived set. Issue-number history is gone. RELEASE_PROCESS.md no longer says wlanpi-desktop is the only repo with promote-to-main.yml.

agents/AGENTS.md is not in this pull request. That file is pull request #48.

No commit in this pull request carries a Co-authored-by trailer. Nothing was archived.
