Virtual Coffee is a laid-back conversation with developers twice a week. It's the conversation that keeps going in slack. It's the online events that support developers at all stages of the journey. It's the place you go to make friends. Anyone can join! Whether you're thinking about getting into tech or have been in it for decades.
Virtual Coffee's mission is to be a welcoming tech community that allows room for growth and mentorship at all levels, and to create meaningful opportunities for learning, leadership, and contribution for everyone.
Virtual Coffee has been a home for developers looking for connection, encouragement, accountability, and support since 2020.
We’ve hosted thousands of coffees, challenges, conversations, study groups, and community events. We’ve helped people find jobs, make friends, contribute to open source, keep going through hard seasons, and feel less alone in tech.
Right now, Virtual Coffee needs help.
Our community has always been volunteer-led, but the tools and infrastructure that keep it running still cost money. We are currently unable to cover our basic expenses.

From an operating standpoint, as a community, we've worked extensively on restructuring our setup to be as lean an efficient as possible, building our own tools where possible and leveraging as many free and basic-tiered solutions as we can sustain. In the spirit of our open-source and community organised roots, we try to keep all our efforts as transparent as possible.
We’re keeping our sponsor tiers simple because we don’t want to promise more work than our volunteers can realistically maintain. Your sponsorship is not buying ads, content, or promotion. It is helping to keep an independent developer community alive.

To preserve what makes Virtual Coffee special and support our existing members, we intentionally keep our group small. We'd love to have everyone as a part of Virtual Coffee, but we prioritize the intimacy and closeness of the group. Our community is currently accepting members on a limited basis. As new membership becomes available, we'll reach out to those on the waitlist to join.
