Version jumps (dev-dependencies group):

  • build 1.5.0 → 1.6.0 (minor) — requirements/build.txt, requirements/dev.txt
  • ruff 0.16.4 → 0.16.5 (patch) — requirements/dev.txt, requirements/lint.txt

Risk: low.

  • No major-version boundary is crossed. build is a minor bump within 1.x; ruff is a 0.16.x patch (ruff pre-1.0 can ship lint-rule changes in a minor, but 0.16.4→0.16.5 is patch and the ruff job passes, so no new diagnostics fire on this codebase).
  • Both are dev/CI-only, not runtime. build/twine are the packaging toolchain and ruff is the linter; neither is a pyproject runtime dependency, so nothing here changes the contents of the published sdist or wheel — blast radius is CI and local dev. (Worth noting because this repo does publish an sdist + wheel, so a runtime bump would be a shipped change; this is not one.)
  • build 1.6.0 sits in the publish toolchain, so a break would surface as a failed build rather than a bad artifact — and build sdist + wheel is green.
  • Compiled-output note: this PR only touches the compiled .txt files; it leaves the .in constraints (ruff>=0.16.4, build>=1.0) untouched, and it rewrites the # via -r dev.in provenance comments to # via -r requirements/dev.in. Cosmetic (a uv-invocation-cwd artifact), no functional effect — but see the overlap note below.

Overlap with #108 — merge #108 first. #108 is a strict superset of this change: it makes the same build 1.5.0→1.6.0 and ruff 0.16.4→0.16.5 jumps and raises the .in floors to match. The two also disagree on the # via comment paths in the same lines of requirements/build.txt, dev.txt and lint.txt, so they will textually conflict. Recommend merging #108 and letting dependabot close or recreate this one; do not merge this before #108.

All checks green (tests on ubuntu/macos/windows, ruff, mypy --strict, pip-audit + bandit, CodeQL, build sdist + wheel).
