Task CLI

A small Python command-line app for creating and managing a to-do list.

• Add tasks
• Update tasks
• Delete tasks
• Mark tasks as in-progress or done
• List all tasks
• Filter tasks by status

Storage

Tasks are stored locally in:

• task/task.json

The folder and JSON file are created automatically the first time you add a task.

Requirements

• Python 3
• No external libraries required

Usage

Run commands from the project root:

• python3 task_cli.py add "Buy groceries"
• python3 task_cli.py update 1 "Buy groceries and cook dinner"
• python3 task_cli.py delete 1
• python3 task_cli.py mark-in-progress 1
• python3 task_cli.py mark-done 1
• python3 task_cli.py list
• python3 task_cli.py list todo
• python3 task_cli.py list in-progress
• python3 task_cli.py list done

Task format

Each task is saved with these fields:

• id
• description
• status
• createdAt
• updatedAt

Notes

• The app uses only Python's built-in standard library.
• If the storage file is missing, it will be recreated automatically.
