What this is

A narrow, façade-compatible uplift of prophet-cli per the Next-Agent Handoff Dossier. Three small, operator-legibility additions off main (@ #54). No engine/platform semantics.

Verification (done first)

What it adds

  1. Repo-memory spine. ARCHIVE_MANIFEST.json already declared three tracks (RUNNING_ARCHIVE / SESSION_WORKLOG / IMPLEMENTATION_STATUS) that did not exist — a declared-unenforced gap. This creates the three current-state docs, makes the manifest honest (drops stale helpers pointing at absent scripts, bumps version/date), and cross-links the runtime twin.
  2. prophet status. Enumerates every top-level surface as real / delegating / scaffold, names each delegate engine, and probes which engines are installed on PATH — façade vs engine boundary, stubbed vs real. Read-only. Runtime twin of docs/IMPLEMENTATION_STATUS.md. Boundary map curated in one place (facadeSurfaces) and test-guarded.
  3. Delegated-action receipts (--receipt <path>). Opt-in, command-scoped JSON (schema prophet-cli/receipt/v0) capturing command, delegate, status, args, timing, error. Written from the two delegated-exec paths (runDelegate, delegateOrReport). A receipt-write failure never masks the delegated result.

Boundary — what this deliberately did NOT import

Kept strictly façade-local, consistent with docs/REPO_ROLE.md:

  • No bootstrap business logic, flake/host mutation, backend/registry/route/io/task ownership, or broad policy engine — those belong in the engine repos.
  • Receipts align conceptually with the estate ProofArtifact idea but the spine is not imported; receipts are convenience artifacts, not a runtime ledger.
  • No new third-party dependencies (cobra only, already present).

Gate

go build ./... OK · go vet ./... OK · go test -ldflags=-linkmode=external ./... OK (all packages incl. new internal/receipt).

Note: plain go test ./... aborts on this macOS with dyld: missing LC_UUID load command — a Go-linker/OS toolchain issue in test-binary execution, not a code failure. Green-gate uses -ldflags=-linkmode=external. Filed separately if CI hits it.

Coordination

Independent of the stale copilot/enhance-documentation-metadata branch; no expected conflict. If that branch is ever rebased and lands, its doc edits and this PR's new files touch different surfaces.

ARCHIVE_MANIFEST.json already declared three repo-memory tracks
(RUNNING_ARCHIVE / SESSION_WORKLOG / IMPLEMENTATION_STATUS) that did not
exist — a declared-unenforced gap. Create the three current-state documents
so the manifest is honest, drop the stale "helpers" pointing at absent
scripts, bump version/updated_at, and cross-link the runtime twin
(prophet status). Repo-local working memory only; not a runtime ledger.
…ion receipts

Two façade-local operator-legibility additions, no platform semantics:

- prophet status: enumerates every top-level surface as real / delegating /
scaffold, names each delegate engine, and probes which engines are installed
on PATH. Read-only; the runtime twin of docs/IMPLEMENTATION_STATUS.md. The
boundary map is curated in one place (facadeSurfaces) and guarded by tests.

- --receipt <path>: opt-in, command-scoped JSON receipt for delegated actions
(schema prophet-cli/receipt/v0) capturing command, delegate, status, args,
timing, and error. Written from the two delegated-exec paths (runDelegate,
delegateOrReport). A receipt-write failure never masks the delegated result.
Aligned conceptually with the estate ProofArtifact idea but deliberately
façade-local: the spine is NOT imported and this is NOT a runtime ledger.
