Thanks! Yes, a mode is a musical scale. Every scale has a specific sequence of intervals, or steps. You can also think about modes being scales derived from a parent scale, each composed of the same notes, but beginning and ending on different steps of the parent scale, creating a unique sequence of intervals and unique melodic characteristics. :) |
