Open tools for understanding wildlife.
OpenXeroth is part of Xeroth. We share tools and research using optics, acoustics and AI to support wildlife observation and conservation field work. Explore the projects at open.xeroth.ai.
- NatureCam brings nature cameras, human expertise and AI together, starting at Djuma Cam. Hosana, our individual animal re-identification pipeline, and AI assistance for volunteer camera operators are in development.
- Djuma birds lets anyone browse and listen to bird-call detections from Djuma Cam, analysed with BirdNET-Cloud. These are automated species suggestions, with geographic checks, rather than confirmed sightings or individual identities.
- Acoustic re-identification research examines how recording conditions can inflate apparent accuracy when AI identifies individual animals. Read the code and reproducibility notes.
| Repository | What it provides |
|---|---|
| acoustic-re-id-research | Research methods, model adapters, tests, and links to datasets and models. |
| xeroth-base-station | An open GNSS base-station reference implementation for precise positioning in field work, including raw observation capture and RINEX output. |
| OpenXeroth | This project's public website and independent Djuma bird interface. |
Each project documents its own licence, scope and limitations. The acoustic research manuscript is not yet peer reviewed; its numerical evidence archive is not yet public.
