- Line 164: Update the TypeScript 6 guidance near the `node` entry in `types` to
state that consumers must install `@types/node` if it is not already available
before adding `node` to `types.

The Requirements section said TypeScript 6 was enough, and that it was the version every package is built and tested with. Neither holds: the packages build with TypeScript 7, and a TypeScript 6 project with a default tsconfig still fails to type-check @openinf/util. Temporal is only in the esnext.temporal lib, and TypeScript 6 no longer loads @types/node unless types names it, which util's Buffer guard needs. The section now says which settings those are, and that skipLibCheck hides the errors at the cost of the types. Before: the README's Requirements said TypeScript 6 was enough, and that it is the version every package is built and tested with. A TypeScript 6 project with a default tsconfig that imports
@openinf/utilstill fails to type-check, with 16Cannot find namespace 'Temporal'errors from util-date's declarations andNamespace 'globalThis' has no exported member 'Buffer'from util's. The packages also build with TypeScript 7 (each package's devDependency), not 6.After: the section names the two settings those declarations need:
esnext.temporal(oresnext) inlib, andnodeintypes, which TypeScript 6 no longer fills in by itself. It also says thatskipLibCheckhides the errors at the cost of the types. The false claim about the build version is gone. How: checked against the packed tarballs of all thirteen packages in a clean project with TypeScript 6.0.3, under
nodenextandbundler. It fails with default settings and passes oncelibandtypesare set as described. README only, so there's no changeset.Summary by CodeRabbit
@openinf/util-date,@openinf/util-types, and@openinf/util; TypeScript 5.9 supports the other packages.@openinf/util. Also noted thatskipLibChecksuppresses declaration errors but treats affected types asany.
