feat(personaplex): qualify spoken QA with AIPerf - #1809
Conversation
Decode each returned audio frame once while retaining the official warmup and accuracy oracle. Closes NVIDIA#1782 Refs NVIDIA#1783 Signed-off-by: chaofengw <chaofengw@nvidia.com>
Collect spoken QA accuracy and task timing from the same inference outputs using the pinned VoiceBench questions, official voice prefix and offline transcription. Preserve explicit unanswered and ambiguous responses and the paired statistical verdict. Signed-off-by: chaofengw <chaofengw@nvidia.com>

VoiceBench and LibriSpeech questions are 16 kHz. Native resampled them with librosa (soxr HQ) while TRTMC used its own windowed-sinc resampler, so the two sides answered slightly different inputs. Resample each suite once with SciPy polyphase (audio_sample_rate: 24000) and make the Native reference reject audio it would have to resample. librosa no longer touches the model input; the speech-parity suite moves to version 2. Move GPU postprocessing out of the serving context.
_suite_side calls postprocess before returning. Both run_native and run_candidate call it while their serving_replicas contexts remain active. In overlapped_acc, both sides share the MPS daemon until the finished/release handshake completes. transcribe_outputs.py loads Whisper on CUDA and runs CUDA inference. That work can overlap the other side's profiling and perturb its Task-call P50.
A postprocessing failure also propagates through run_native's per-precision except block. When run_native uses its normal precision list, the native run can retry at the next precision instead of reporting the failure as a scoring error.
Return the observations from each side, then run the configured postprocessors after both serving contexts and the shared MPS daemon have been released. Preserve the returned observations and apply the postprocessor updates before scoring.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Do not let a shorter option count as a second answer when it is contained in a longer matched option.
The fallback checks each option text on its own. Some OpenBookQA options are word-level prefixes or sub-spans of other options, for example "water" and "salt water". If the reply is "salt water", both options match. letters then holds two letters, and the reply is scored as ambiguous and wrong. The docstring promises a "unique complete option text" match, but the code does not deliver that when one option sits inside another.
Record the matched span for each option. Then drop a candidate whose span lies strictly inside another candidate's span. Both sides are affected equally, so the paired comparison stays fair. The absolute Acc values still go down.

Background
PersonaPlex needs accuracy and Native/TRTMC Task-call P50 from the same generated speech. This PR retains the spoken-QA work and incorporates #1783's removal of a discarded Native audio decode. Model arithmetic and codec/input fixes are consolidated separately in #1751.

Prepare the pinned questions and official voice/text prefix; derive bundle capacity from the longest actual question.
Resample each speech suite once to Mimi's 24 kHz rate with SciPy polyphase (
audio_sample_rate: 24000): VoiceBench, and the LibriSpeech speech-parity suite, which moves to version 2. Both 16 kHz datasets previously reached Native through librosa and TRTMC through its own resampler. The Native reference now rejects input it would have to resample, so librosa no longer touches the model input. This replaces the runtime libsoxr dependency previously proposed in fix(personaplex): align FP16 inference with Native #1751.Replay the prefix and delayed-token state in TRTMC, and use the pinned official
step_system_promptsin Native.Keep the current custom listen-then-answer protocol: forced silence during the question, an EPAD response trigger and a fixed reply window. This is a spoken-QA adaptation, not the official full-duplex evaluation.
Add offline speech transcription and spoken-option grading. AIPerf output postprocessing preserves the original artifacts and timings.
Incorporate fix(personaplex): avoid timing discarded audio decode #1783: decode each returned Native speech frame once, retaining the auxiliary codec only for the official warmup. Its CPU regression verifies output and decode count.
