A sidebar worktree used to switch only when the click landed on its branch-name text. Each row is at least 29px tall, but the clickable label button is only as tall as its text, so clicks above or below it — in the gap between two names — did nothing.

Now the row itself handles the click:

  • A primary click anywhere in the row selects the worktree: above or below the name, to the right of it, or in the strips above and below the star.
  • The star checkbox only toggles. It stops the click from reaching the row, so starring never switches worktrees.
  • Right-click still opens the worktree menu without selecting.
  • The keyboard is unchanged: the label button is still the row's only tab stop, and Enter or Space on it selects (the click it fires bubbles to the row).
  • The pointer cursor now covers the whole row.

New e2e scenarios in test/e2e/sidebar.spec.ts click at the row's top and bottom edges, to the right of the label and just above the star. They also cover the star toggling without selecting, right-click not selecting, and Enter and Space on the label.

This branch also moves architecture/model/typescript.c4 to architecture/model.c4 using la-arch-migrate. living-architecture 0.3.1 accepts only the two-file layout (model.c4 + views.c4), so without this la-arch-check and test/architecture/arch.test.ts fail. The content is unchanged apart from blank lines.

Linear: DEV-2080

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added worktree name search. Search is case-insensitive, remembers text per repository across reloads, and works alongside the checked-worktree filter. The selected worktree remains visible, and clearing search restores the checked-filter list.
  • Improvements
    • Worktree rows can now be selected by clicking anywhere outside the checkbox. Checkbox clicks only toggle the checked state, and right-clicking opens the menu without changing selection. Enter and Space continue to select the worktree from its label.
    • If search preferences can’t be saved, search still works and the page reports the issue.

📝 Walkthrough

The worktree sidebar now selects rows on primary clicks while keeping checkbox, right-click, and keyboard behavior distinct. The web specification adds worktree name search requirements. Listener socket cleanup now uses the start lock and captured socket identity. Architecture-tool references are updated.

Changes: Worktree row selection

Layer / File(s) Summary
Row selection contract
openspec/specs/web/spec.md, openspec/changes/archive/.../*, test/e2e/contract.ts
The specification and archived change records define row-click selection, checkbox and right-click behavior, keyboard selection, and cursor behavior.
Row selection implementation
src/web/ui/app.tsx, src/web/main/styles.css
The row click handler selects the worktree. Checkbox clicks stop propagation. The pointer cursor moves to the row.
Interaction tests
test/e2e/sidebar.spec.ts
End-to-end tests cover row click positions, checkbox toggling, right-click menus, and Enter and Space selection.

Listener socket cleanup

Layer / File(s) Summary
Start-lock timeout error
src/platform/files/index.ts, src/platform/files/files.test.ts
Start-lock timeout now throws StartLockHeldError. The live-lock test checks for that specific error.
Listener close and socket identity
src/daemon/server/bind.ts, src/daemon/server/bind.test.ts
Binding captures socket identity before rename. Listener close acquires the start lock and removes the socket only when its identity matches. Tests cover replacement and lock contention.

Worktree name search specification

Layer / File(s) Summary
Name search requirement
openspec/specs/web/spec.md
The specification defines per-repository search persistence, label matching, checked-filter interaction, selected-worktree retention, clearing, and storage-write failure behavior.

Architecture and CI updates

Layer / File(s) Summary
Architecture and CI updates
architecture/model.c4, .github/workflows/ci.yml, README.md
The architecture declarations are unchanged. CI and development instructions use living-architecture version 0.3.1; CI also fetches a different TypeScript twin commit.

The current row behavior is correct, but the web requirement does not preserve the intended cursor and focus behavior for future changes. The PR is otherwise mergeable with this small specification correction.

The daemon took its socket's identity after renaming it into place, so a file swapped in at
that moment was taken for its own and removed on exit. It now takes the identity before the
rename, and checks and removes the socket on exit under the start lock, which a starting
daemon holds while it puts its socket in place.
