📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe pull request adds Protocol 5 support, local and remote installation, SSH-backed hub hosts, host-specific repository discovery and management, and browser controls for host status and recovery. It also adds tests, architecture updates, and documentation for these changes. ChangesRemote host support and installation

🟡 Minor · Preserve a newer repo selection when the add request completes. · view.ts:513-529
src/web/ui/view.ts:513-529
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winPreserve a newer repo selection when the add request completes.
If the user closes the dialog while an add request is pending and selects another tab, the request still completes. Its success handler then selects the added repo and can switch the page away from the user's newer selection. Track explicit tab selections and auto-select the added repo only if none occurred while the request was pending. Closing the dialog alone should still allow the successful add to select its repo.

Last of the five PRs for worktree-term (DEV-1989). It adds remote hosts over SSH, the installers, a desktop launcher, an optional systemd unit, and repo management from the page. Linear: DEV-2054.
What it does
Remote hosts.
config.jsongainshosts(name, SSH alias, absolute repos, discovery roots) and a localroots. For each remote host, every browser session runsssh … <alias> "$HOME/.local/bin/wtd" connectand speaks the same protocol over the process's stdio as over the local socket. One SSH control master is shared per host (ControlPersist=10m,BatchMode=yes,ControlPath=<state>/run/ssh-%C). If the SSH process is killed, the link reconnects to the same daemon and the page keeps its terminal objects. A host that keeps failing shows asdown, and its newreasonfield gives SSH's last stderr line.{ "roots": ["~/src"], "hosts": [{ "name": "devbox", "ssh": "devbox", "repos": ["/home/me/src/api"], "roots": ["~/src"] }] }Installers.
Each install writes an immutable release to
~/.local/share/worktree-term/versions/<version>-<hex>and atomically swaps thecurrentsymlink. It keeps the previous release, so running daemons and hubs keep working, and removes older ones. The shim~/.local/bin/wtdis bound to an absolute Node, so a stock Ubuntu remote needs no dotfile edits. On a remote, the installer finds Node in this order:--node, if givennodeon the plain PATHcommand -v nodeSteps 2–4 skip any Node older than 20, such as apt's Node 18.
install-remotestreams one tar archive into a fixed remote command; all values travel inside the archive, never in the command line.install-localalso writes a.desktoplauncher. With--systemdit writes and enables a user unit, and from then on every daemon auto-start goes throughsystemctl --user start.Page.
host:repoand show the host's status while it is not connected.downoroutdatedhost. Its action is "Restart daemon" for the local host, "Reinstall & restart" for an outdated remote, or "Install" for a down remote.Hub.
discoverRepos, addRepoandremoveRepoeach run over a one-shot link of the hub's own. Config edits change only one host'srepos, re-check the file before the atomic replace and retry on concurrent hand edits. Restarts and reinstalls are coordinated per host across sessions; a restart requested during a reinstall shares it.Protocol 5. Host entries gain
reason.instanceis now also reported foroutdatedhosts, which lets the confirmation match terminals to the instance. Discovery roots may be~or~/…, expanded by the daemon against its own home.wire.golden.jsonis re-blessed; the frozenhello/shutdowngolden is unchanged.Notes for review
platform.install(already in the model and arc42 from the tests commit).dev-2054-worktree-term-pr5-remote-hosts-over-ssh-installis in this PR and will be archived before merge.Tests
