0.1.1-beta.16.3

Fixes

  • Workspaces: hovering a workspace no longer enlarges it. The hovered workspace now changes colour instead (the theme's color03; if the bar colour itself is color03, a lighter bar ink is used), with one uniform 120 ms transition in the default, numbers, magic, kanji, rings and aurora styles. The pacman style keeps its 16.2 behaviour.
  • Network widget: in V1 the network icon now follows the bar colour like every other widget instead of fixed tones.
  • Picker: the search field of the theme, wallpaper and media pickers is readable in every theme (12 px text in a visible input field; contrast 7:1 to 21:1 across the shipped themes, previously down to 1:1 on light themes).
  • Picker: themes without a preview image are listed again (with a placeholder), and the list is sorted alphabetically across all theme roots like omarchy-theme-list.
  • Status group: a pending spacing update can no longer be cleared early by a synchronous re-schedule.
  • Status and centre groups: embedded widgets (update centre, tray, centre) no longer disappear after switching to the stock Omarchy bar and back (needed a reload before).
  • Tests: the two reveal-budget and lazy-paint regressions from 16.2 now run in the repository test suite.
  • Compatibility: the forward-compatibility baseline is pinned to Omarchy 50d687a1 (2026-10-08) with a reproducible generator script; the 4.0.4 installation pins are unchanged.

Known issues

  • Rings style: right after a bar rebuild (reload, V1/V2 switch, workspace count change) the focus ring can be drawn about 6 px off for a single frame (16 ms). It is a build-time animation ordering effect and will be fixed with the host layout redesign in 0.2.0.
  • Notch bar at DPR 1.6 with the numbers or kanji style: the centre group can oscillate between two layouts for a while after a layout change. This exists since 16.1 (status spacing feedback) and is also addressed by the 0.2.0 redesign.

Install and update

For a new source installation, use the published release tag:

sudo pacman -S --needed python jq curl networkmanager power-profiles-daemon upower xdg-utils libnotify wl-clipboard ttf-material-symbols-variable ttf-jetbrains-mono-nerd-basic noto-fonts-cjk adwaita-fonts
git clone https://github.com/HANCORE-linux/Shibumi-Shell.git
cd Shibumi-Shell
git checkout v0.1.1-beta.16.3
./scripts/shibumi-suite install --yes

Update an admitted Beta.16.2 installation from its existing checkout:

git fetch --tags
git checkout v0.1.1-beta.16.3
./scripts/shibumi-suite update --dry-run
./scripts/shibumi-suite update --yes
./scripts/shibumi-suite status

The exact Beta.16.2 tag (bd1224b) and release merge (e07853b5) are admitted
predecessors. Older supported identities retain their exact revision and
payload checks; an arbitrary checkout with the same version is not admitted.
Do not install or update from main, or delete lifecycle state to bypass
admission. See the installation and recovery guide.
AUR publication remains deferred.

Downgrade warning

Downgrade: Beta.15.4 and older cannot read V1 layouts with parked widgets
(order.parked). They reset V1 order, roles and splits to defaults; other
settings and V2 stay. uninstall --keep-settings does not prevent this.
Back up ~/.config/omarchy/shell.json and ~/.local/state/shibumi/ before a
downgrade. Details: Backup before downgrade.
