0.1.1-beta.16

Beta.16 refines Shibumi's bar alignment, panels, and V1 widget placement while
retaining the 24-plugin suite and transactional installation model.

Highlights

  • Bar symbols use Omarchy's configured bar font and shared icon size. Ordinary
bar text shares a font-reference baseline; the smaller date follows the clock.
  • The notification bell is an outline with a theme color01 dot for a positive
count and a ring while unknown or loading.
  • Update and tray badges are smaller, with single digits centered and longer
    counts growing to the right.
  • CPU and GPU load share a concentric water-ring display. Battery and Temperature
panels use water rings and compact metrics, with a charging plasma effect in
the Battery panel. Panel-only animations stop when their panel closes.
  • The battery bar symbol can be horizontal or vertical. Its horizontal charging
bolt uses the theme's color01; in V2, the horizontal battery rests on its
    displayed value's baseline.
  • Switching from V1 to V2 without restarting the shell no longer leaves the
    horizontal battery too low.
  • Desktop Brightness shows the current output name, or just its monitor symbol
    in icon modes.
  • The media panel has compact transport buttons with equally sized, centered
symbols. Power Profile buttons keep distinct active/hover states, readable
labels, and the panel's corner radius.
  • Feature-panel headings use one uppercase style. AI model-usage bars use the
accent color, and the widget tooltip explains unavailable provider limits.
  • V1 placement reuses eligible empty or switched-off slots before refusing a
widget, preserves parked fixed-widget identities, and explains when the bar
is full. Active widgets and capacity limits are unchanged.
  • Picker palette dots show the selected theme's colors, bar shadows fade out
without enlarging input regions, and the active-bar card drops its redundant
    LIVE marker.

Compatibility

Beta.16 targets the pinned Omarchy and Omarchy Settings 4.0.4-1 package and
Omarchy v4.0.4 source baselines with Quickshell 0.3.1-1. It does not update
Omarchy. The published predecessor is v0.1.1-beta.15.4 (2026-09-28).

Install and update

Source checkout

For a new installation, install the runtime dependencies and use the release tag:

sudo pacman -S --needed python jq curl networkmanager power-profiles-daemon upower xdg-utils libnotify wl-clipboard ttf-material-symbols-variable ttf-jetbrains-mono-nerd-basic noto-fonts-cjk adwaita-fonts
git clone https://github.com/HANCORE-linux/Shibumi-Shell.git
cd Shibumi-Shell
git checkout v0.1.1-beta.16
./scripts/shibumi-suite install --yes

Update an admitted Beta.15.4 installation from its existing checkout:

git fetch --tags
git checkout v0.1.1-beta.16
./scripts/shibumi-suite update --dry-run
./scripts/shibumi-suite update --yes
./scripts/shibumi-suite status

Beta.16 admits the exact Beta.15.4 tag, release merge, and documentation merge
identities. Older supported predecessors remain subject to exact revision and
payload checks; an arbitrary checkout with the same version is not admitted.
Do not install from main. For an unadmitted development installation, follow
supervised recovery using the exact
installed code; do not remove lifecycle state to bypass admission.

Arch package

AUR publication remains deferred. Once separately published and available:

omarchy pkg aur add shibumi-shell && shibumi-shell install --yes

For a package update after the new package is available:

omarchy update
shibumi-shell update --dry-run
shibumi-shell update --yes
shibumi-shell status

omarchy update is a separate system update, not a Shibumi-only operation.
Pacman replaces immutable system files; the explicit unprivileged Shibumi
transaction stages and verifies the user's 24 plugins. To adopt a package from
an admitted checkout installation, install the package and run shibumi-shell update --yes, not a second install. See the installation guide.

Downgrade warning

Downgrade: Beta.15.4 and older cannot read V1 layouts with parked widgets
(order.parked). They reset the V1 order, roles and splits to defaults; other
settings and V2 stay. uninstall --keep-settings does not prevent this. Before
downgrading, back up ~/.config/omarchy/shell.json and ~/.local/state/shibumi/.
Details: Backup before downgrade.

Known limits

  • Horizontal Top and Bottom bars remain the supported presentations. Vertical
layout/clipping is not corrected here; the vertical bar is deferred to V3 in
    0.2.0-beta.
  • Physical multi-output, mixed-scale, hotplug, suspend/resume, enterprise Wi-Fi,
and Bluetooth device workflows require their own acceptance. Fixtures and
software-rendered previews do not establish those results.
  • The pinned Omarchy 4.0.x plugin API exposes Recent notification history, not
Live popups. A dot does not imply new Live-popup access; the existing count
    semantics and app-focus behavior remain.
  • The smaller date stays on the clock baseline in Beta.16; raising it again
    is deferred to 0.2.x.
  • Validation is revision-bound. See release readiness
for the recorded product evidence and separate package and hardware acceptance
    boundaries.
