Due to the limited connectivity we kindly ask you to download as much data and software as you can prior to the event. Please let us know which APIs you'd like to use during the event.

Software

A big chunk of the FarmHack (open) data will have a spatial component. It may be e.g. locations of measurements, vehicle drive lines or plots of land. Visualising and analysing this type of data requires software that can handle points, lines and areas. Please install one or more of the following in advance.

Please make sure you have the following components installed and configured beforehand.

  • a Geographical Information System e.g. QGIS (mandatory).
  • a spatial database e.g. PostGIS (preferred).
  • spatial analysis libraries for your favourite scripting language e.g. Shapely for Python.

Feel free to open issues if you need help and guidance with finding and installing any of the above.
