SceneForge Studio — Your story, frame by frame. A free, open-source video editor for narrated stories.

Latest release Downloads Build and render checks License: GPL-3.0 Windows, macOS, Linux

Download · Feature guide · AI options · Build from source · Changelog

SceneForge Studio turns a script, your photos and clips, and a voice into a finished, captioned video, one scene at a time. Write the narration, drop in pictures, pick a look, and SceneForge times everything to the voice. It renders on your own computer with FFmpeg: no account, no watermark, no subscription. AI is optional, and much of it runs free on your machine. Arabic and English are first-class, right down to right-to-left captions.

A 14-second SceneForge edit of travel and food photos: a Brooklyn skyline at dusk with the title Every place has a story, a whip pan to a New York street, a zoom punch onto the Colosseum revealed from black and white to colour, a zoom fade to a coastal town, a spin onto a cup of coffee, a Greek salad, and a forest walk with the title SceneForge Studio
Made in SceneForge from eight still photos: camera moves, whip pans, zoom punch, a before & after reveal, spin and cinematic fades. Photos from Pixabay.

Get the installer for your system from Releases. Releases marked Pre-release are betas with the newest features.

Linux (64-bit) .AppImage or .deb AppImage: chmod +x and run it. Deb: sudo apt install ./SceneForge-Studio-*.deb

What's new in 0.9.4 (beta)

  • Trending effects in Effects → More effects → Trending: beat zoom, flash, motion trails, mirror, RGB split, cinematic fade & zoom, intro moves, a before & after slider and speed blur.
  • Seven new transitions: whip pans, spin, zoom punch, glitch, cinematic zoom fade, and before & after. Plus Y2K, Cozy and Clean & bright looks.
  • Free AI on your computer with one click: Whisper captions, Kokoro and Chatterbox voices (Arabic included) and Stable Diffusion images install into SceneForge's own folder. No Docker, no admin rights, and your NVIDIA card is used when you have one.
  • Gemini voices: 30 voices in 100+ languages with a free Google AI Studio key.
  • Easier editing: insert a picture between two parts, a Blade that cuts parts, "What to do" hints on errors, and layouts that fit laptop screens.

The full list is in the changelog.
