  • All NWIS functions will now error out by default. NWIS servers will be taken offline February 22nd, 2027. Use override_error = TRUE to temporarily override this error.
  • Added sublocation_identifier parameter to read_waterdata_field_measurements and read_waterdata_field_meta.
  • Added method_category parameter to read_waterdata_continuous.
  • Updated Water Data API informational links to v1.

I think you should add the error to readNWISdata(). I was able to trip it with readNWISdv() , readNWISsite(), whatNWISdata(), etc., but I actually started with ...data() and thought maybe I had the wrong version of your fork or something....'til I realized it doesn't seem to be a part of this change!
