Code of Conduct

The Short Version

Be direct. Be respectful. Focus on the work. Don't make it personal.

What We Expect

CustodyZero projects are built by people who care about a specific problem. Disagreement about technical direction is normal and healthy. Personal attacks, harassment, and bad faith engagement are not.

Expected behavior:

  • Critique the idea, not the person
  • Be direct about disagreement — passive aggression wastes everyone's time
  • Give credit where it's due
  • Assume good intent until proven otherwise
  • Accept that maintainers make final calls on their projects

Unacceptable behavior:

  • Harassment, intimidation, or sustained personal attacks
  • Discriminatory language or behavior of any kind
  • Deliberately derailing technical discussions
  • Publishing others' private information without consent
  • Conduct that would be unacceptable in a professional engineering environment

Enforcement

Reports of unacceptable behavior can be sent to conduct@custodyzero.com. We will review, investigate, and respond. Maintainers have the right to remove, edit, or reject contributions that violate this standard, and to temporarily or permanently exclude contributors who do.

Scope

This applies to all CustodyZero repositories, issues, pull requests, discussions, and any other space where CustodyZero project work happens.

We're here to build something. Let's do that.
