fix(mobile): Android fixes from the real-device QA of #2364, #2380 and #2401 - #2422
Conversation
…up and shortcut icons - Treat an input-method Enter that echoes a hardware Enter as that key, so Enter and Ctrl+Enter send with WeType and similar input methods. - Stop the hidden measuring text in the composer from taking taps meant for the attachment ✕ and the mention list. - Lower the Android flick-up speed to 0.3 dp/ms. - Use the launcher icon for Android app shortcuts, which cannot draw SF Symbols. recent-chats.ts now imports react-native, whose timer globals clash with Node's in the root program, like the other excluded mobile tests. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01TYsJ1DZQ7Vd8sKVs6MMhdF

Android phone result: partial — hardware Enter still FAILS with WeChat IME (Xiaomi, Android 16 / HyperOS 3, debug build of this branch at 3e76368, temporary HID keyboard removed afterwards) Screenshots: 2422-android/phone (commits 4838e34, e39dcd9)
The ImeEcho path doesn't fire with WeChat IME: it looks like the IME commits the newline as text instead of re-emitting an Enter key event. Other findings:
(The system photo picker ignores adb taps, so "pick a photo" was exercised through a share intent.) Generated by Claude Code |
…re Enter WeType on HyperOS types a newline into the field instead of sending the Enter key again. The view now watches the focused field and turns a newline typed within 500 ms of a sending hardware Enter into a send. Also recheck the clipboard once Android gives the window focus back, and name shared files that arrive as bare media ids after their type. apps/mobile/src/ui/share/share-screen.tsx:140
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winKeep file names readable at large text sizes.
The two-line limit truncates longer file names inside an already width-limited tile. At large text sizes, users can lose the part of the name that distinguishes shared files before they send them. Allow the name to wrap and let the tile grow. As per coding guidelines, “fix layout with wrapping, stacking, scrolling and reachable actions instead of disabling scaling or capping all text.”

Combined mobile QoL batch (#2364, #2380, #2401, #2422): items 1 and 2 pass, but attachments fail. This ran on a Release Simulator build of main 19c8102 (which includes 82243a0), on iOS 27. The QA Host ran on the same main. The ⌘↩ hardware keyboard check was skipped. 1. Chat gestures: pass
2. Home Screen quick actions: pass
3. Share: links pass, photos fail
🔴 Bug on main: the app can't send any attachment. This isn't limited to sharing. Choosing photos inside the app with + → Photos fails the same way, and the pasted image probably does too.

Before: on a Xiaomi phone (Android 16, HyperOS 3) the real-device QA of #2380, #2364 and #2401 found these problems.
After: with WeType and a hardware keyboard, Enter and Ctrl+Enter send, and Shift+Enter adds a line. The ✕ removes the attachment, a calm upward swipe also opens the keyboard, and the app shortcuts show the app icon. Send to shows a thumbnail per image and keeps the keyboard down. A copied image is offered for pasting on return, and shared files get a readable name.
How:
Hardware Enter. The view notes each hardware Enter in
dispatchKeyEventPreIme, before the input method sees it. Two input-method follow-ups count as that key, with its original modifiers, if they arrive within 500 ms (ImeEcho):TextWatcheron the focused field removes that newline and sends instead. When the input method uses Enter to confirm composing text, it types that text and no newline, so nothing is sent.
Attachment ✕. An invisible copy of the draft, which the composer uses to measure line wrapping, sat over the attachment row and took the taps. It and the line-height probe now have
pointerEvents="none". This also frees the first mention suggestion.Flick-up.
pullToCompose.flickdrops from 1 to 0.3 dp/ms, since any upward drag at the newest message is a deliberate pull.Shortcut icon. Android cannot draw the SF Symbol, so it now uses the
ic_launchermipmap. Bot avatars are left for a separate change.Send to. The preview shows image thumbnails or file tiles above the count. The screen hides the keyboard on mount, and again whenever the keyboard shows or the app becomes active.
Clipboard. On Android the clipboard is checked again 500 ms after the app becomes active, once the window has focus back.
Shared file names. A name without an extension, such as a gallery media id, falls back to
shared-N.<ext>.Not changed: file order.
expo-sharingand our code both keep the order of the intent'sEXTRA_STREAMlist, so the gallery sets it.recent-chats.tsnow importsreact-native, so its test joins the other mobile tests that the roottsconfig.jsonleaves out.Verification:
